Paul holds a BA (Hons) in Political Studies and an MTh in Distributive Justice, and has worked in the youth sector for 20 years, including in mental health and housing. He has been at Waipuna since 2011 (with a break from 2016 to 2018), sits on the National CAYAD Advisory Group, and is in his fourth term as an elected Community Board Member. Paul works to help communities and organisations reduce alcohol-related harm to young people, mainly through the alcohol licensing process, alongside his CAYAD colleagues in the Community Development Team. He is happy to meet with anyone to talk about creating a better environment for young people, and is always up for challenging decision-makers to improve systems. Outside of work, Paul loves fishing, the beach, reading, and watching Test Cricket at Hagley Oval with his elder son.
