In her previous role as a Clinical Nurse Specialist, Heather used to visit St John of God Hauora Trust regularly. She was always struck by the warmth of the environment and the quality of care provided to the most complex clients. That drew her to join the organisation.
Many of the people the Trust supports live with complex neurological conditions, disabilities, and rehabilitation needs. Her role is to ensure the clinical team is supported, resourced, and operating to the highest standard, and that the people supported receive safe, person-centred care.
Heather is direct, supportive, and committed to continuous improvement. She believes great clinical leadership means being present, listening carefully, and never losing sight of the person at the centre of care.
