Dan has spent 26 years walking alongside young people in nature, 19 of those at Waipuna, helping them learn about their strengths and skills to overcome challenges in their lives. He started at Waipuna in 2007 as an Adventure Therapy facilitator, and now manages the Community Development team, staying innovative to meet the challenges present in the communities. Dan believes in long-term, unconditional support (high challenge alongside high support) and in helping people push themselves to keep learning and growing. Outside of mahi, his wife Meghan and their three tamariki, Harper, Zoe and Tainui, are his priority, and he loves escaping to jiu jitsu with the team at Oceanside when he gets a free moment.
