Born and raised in Ōtautahi, Brodie completed their undergraduate studies at the University of Auckland and worked as a disability support worker in Whakatāne before returning to their hometown in 2022. They are focused on ensuring community and minority voices are represented in the decisions that affect daily life.
Brodie works with communities and stakeholders to reduce the negative impact of drugs and alcohol on rangatahi. Ensuring that rainbow and neurodiverse young people have voice and spaces to be themselves is a key part of their mahi.
Brodie tries to bring the most authentic version of themselves to work each day and believes being good role models for rangatahi means showing up as they truly are. Outside of work, much of their spare time is spent reading or writing, as they are currently completing a Masters in Writing. When Brodie has a moment free, you will find them browsing the wonderful op shops Ōtautahi has to offer.
